A case packing machine is designed to pack products into cases at the end of a packaging line. PROPACK supplies and integrates automatic industrial case packing machines suited to the products, cardboard case formats and required production speeds.

Depending on the products, case type and required production speed, we offer wrap-around case packers, tray and hood case packers for shelf-ready display cases, side-loading case packers and vertical case packers.

There are three main case packing principles: horizontal case packing, where products are inserted from the side into a pre-formed case; vertical case packing, where products are loaded from above; and wrap-around case packing, where a case is formed directly around a group of products from a flat cardboard blank.

The choice of an automatic case packing machine depends on the product, case type, loading method and required production speed. A wrap-around case packer forms the case directly around the product group from a flat cardboard blank. A side-loading case packer inserts products from the side into a pre-formed case, while a vertical case packer loads products from above. For shelf-ready packaging, a tray and hood case packer combines a tray and a hood to create a display case ready for use on retail shelves. PROPACK selects and integrates the most suitable technology for each end-of-line packaging application.

Cardboard is widely used for grouping, protecting and transporting products, particularly thanks to its recyclability and the possibility of incorporating recycled materials.

Wrap-around case packers form a cardboard case directly around a group of products from a flat blank. When this technology is suitable for the products being packed, it can significantly reduce cardboard consumption by optimising case dimensions and minimising unused space.

Tray and hood case packers for shelf-ready packaging can also reduce the amount of cardboard used, while making it easier for operators to handle the packaging when placing products on retail shelves.

The different case packing technologies offered by PROPACK also make it possible to consider solutions using recyclable cardboard packaging, potentially incorporating recycled materials, depending on the technical characteristics of the materials and production requirements.

In the context of the European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), optimising cardboard packaging is an important consideration for manufacturers seeking to reduce material consumption and the environmental impact of their packaging.

Which automatic case packing machine should you choose?
